Commissioning a painting is an exciting and relatively simple process. The hard part is waiting for your painting to arrive. Typically, commissions refer to portraiture, however I produce still lifes and animal commissions as well. From start to finish, the process usually takes a couple of months. This takes into account drying time and existing schedules. It all begins by contacting me for a consultation.
PHOTOS: I insist on working from my own photos when the situation calls for it. I am happy to travel to your location or host a photo shoot in Tallahassee. I rarely work from other's photos. What makes a great photograph doesn't always translate into a great painting.
SIZE: I custom stretch my own paintings with archival canvas. The stretchers I use are also custom cut to any size. There are benefits to working with standard sizes, but please don't feel you are limited to these sizes. Often times the subject and composition are used to determine the final dimentions of a painting. I encourage you to use this chart as a basis for determining your budget.
